Human and power

Power is great, power is sweet to hold , to use and to hold on to forever but funny enough no mortal is that opportune.

Whenever one is privileged to be in a position of power, remember that one day you will relinquish it and if you clinch on to power and refuse to leave it, power will leave you and find its way into the territory of another person. Therfore, whatever power you have, do not misuse or use it negatively especially against others because no mortal is a permanent custodian of power.

Boys sexuality

The Oluwadamilola Abe network,Thoan organised a summit on raising:Beaming, Obliging, Youthful, Savvy(BOYS) via Facebook on 4th and 5th July 2020.
I was in attendance and i learnt some lessons from the speakers, though i did remote listening as  networks were sometimes epileptic considering Nigerian data network and i also had other engagements during the period but i learnt some lessons from the speakers atleast the ones i listened to  did justice to those topics as given.

One of such was Ogunlade Temitope.
According to him, two pillars will help understand boys on self control of their sexual urges. *Perception and perspective*

Perception: What a boy should know. *When we begin to know ourself we destroy ourself*
*Perspective* addresses how the boy child should see what he is experiencing.

At puberty, early puberty between ages 11 to 13, boys develop psychologically and bodily with signs like deeper voice, private part enlargement and its change to darker colour, bigger scrotum etc. He experiences wet dreams and probably ejaculates when asleep. At this point, he also develops  emotions towards the opposite gender depending on his temperaments while some are overtly expressed, others are not. If all these are not properly handled, then unexplained mood swing, low self esteem takes over channeling the emotional feelings wrongly. Some even get depressed  and aggressive. These emotional feelings are mostly misinterpreted as love as they express it towards an available female.

The school of relativism states that, what's good for you may not be good for me based on perspective. However for a boy to have a proper perspective on his sexual urge, he has to recognise the place of God as there is no mastery and there can't  be a mastery of sexual urge without perspective. Now, perspective is telling him how he was(created) made to experience this, before the wrong things are put in his consciousness as the perspective must be gotten properly and rightly to help these boys. For example a boy who says or who has been made to believe that sex is food and Food is sex,and so he must get food whenever he wants food has such a wrong perspective and may not have a good marriage or home.

👌Observation: Boys have been left to decipher life for themselves for ages, you hardly see Church or secular programmes educating boys on their sexuality, such programmes are mostly for girls, too bad though. 😃.

👭👭Can we Guess where these boys learn?

From their friends who are also limited in knowledge as they are in the same category.

Second source is Tv,📺 movies where fantasies are preached and so they find crushes and infatuate.

Third source are books and magazines of Biology 💻📒📒📒where they learn technicalities not emotional solutions of any kind. It tells them what the scrotum does but not when or how to control it when the urge comes.

📱💻The fourth source is Pornography. This even destroy marriages and its a wrong source to learn sexuality. Boys who engage in such even undress girls in their imaginations. They are everywhere, especially this age that people earn from porn sites and from sexual perversions.

The fifth source is sexual experiment leading to incestuous acts, rape, etc.

The truth is hard but the truth is, the solution is only in God. As without that you fail.

American society has done so much to control urges but these efforts  are limited and their final conclusions have always been that Christianity and Religion has helped have a grip on sexuality.

*Putting your body under control as you will give account of it after now*

*Some secular options to maintain self control and their shortcomings.*

American Researchers say finding another addiction can help overcome sexual urge. Some are, Alcoholism and workaholism
.
Another is Masturbation. Its even more harmful.

Another is Fulfilling your desires by visiting prostitutes and brothels. Meaning you are not starving your desires but feeding it, doing yourself more harms considering the outcomes of such action and there may be no stopping.

Also abstinence from Pornography.

Counselling and Therapy. Talking to experts and opening up for help. In this regard, emotion is stronger than knowledge. Who knows what the counselor is also battling.

Medications like Anti estrogen, antidepressants, mood stabiliser etc, this can also lead to addiction.

The only solution is a Godly perspective. Begin to register it in their consciousness when thet are very young. For as many boys that are caught in the web already, they can /should seek God intimately and personally not just attending church or participating in Church activities. He can help instill needed self control.

Such boys should be disciplined to study books that help instill self control like the Bible.

Watch out against sexual urge triggers. Observe and be intentional about it. Starve the urge, do not feed it, so it does not develop.

Surround yourself with like minds.

Spend time to pray.

Talk of your urges and crushes with people of like mind who will help you not to fall into the urge who also have mastery so as to gain mastery.

Sexual education is good but its not enough without God.

Feeling really loved is not obsession and with every gift comes a responsibility. Your sexuality is one of such responsibilities as God gave responsibility for sex to be enjoyed under the umbrella of marriage.

Teach boys early that its wrong and wicked to see girls as sex object. Let them understand its violation against God's law. Also let them know that boys/men, who have engaged in rape have been jailed as it is punishable under the law of most  countries of the world. Even the Bible in Deut 32:25 gives its penalty as death.

Tell them its wrong not to have control over their sexual urge.

"Let them understand that they should not be at the mercy of their emotions rather they should use it well, enjoy it positively and dominate it.". Vincent Van Gogh here.

Teach boys that God has made resources  for help and they must own up to this help. The detrimental effect for negative usage of boys sexuality are countless on the society: contracting SDIs, increased abortion, unplanned pregnancy, mood swing, depression, productivity reduction, attention deficit disorder, aggression, rape, daydreaming and undressing girls in classes on their mind etc.

*Your sexuality is your responsibility. Be responsible*

*Compiled by an attendee*.

Still on Tolu Arotile

Its really saddening that in Nigeria, a young person cannot achieve great heights in peace through hard work and get rewarded. Just wondering how she would have been celebrated as a young officer, female for that matter, if she were to be in a developed country. All efforts would have been in top gear not to lose her to anything, not even a premature death the way it happened.

The elder sister who had dropped her off at the NAF base talked of suspecting a foul play on her sudden death, having dropped her off  in her own car at about past 4pm  at the NAF base in Kaduna, the day of the sad occurrence. The next call she heard of her  was from Tolu's fiancee who informed her that Tolu was at the ICU, not quite long after that call, she saw the news online of her sister's death. She talked about being disappointed  because her younger sister served at such  epoch position nationally. She actually heard of her death online. That must have been quite traumatizing for Mrs Adegboye, to think that her third younger sister, who resided with her, the fourth child in the family, her sister whom she dropped off for herself  same day was gone in a jiffy to the land of no return, with no premonitions of any sort?

Her father also stated that someone called him and said 'call Tolu your daughter' he did and her mobile phone rang and no one picked it, some hours after, another person called him that he should call her number he did and this time he was told his daughter was at the mortuary.
So ridiculous!

The likes of achievers who seem to be well protected and untouched in Nigeria are hushpuppiyians, the hushpuppy and other puppies .

Her death is such a questionable one as alot of Nigerians have been expressing their views concerning her death that, there must be more than meet the eye but really this story will  discourage well meaning Nigerians who even have ideas to move the Nigerian society forward having being opportune to train at different capacities, some abroad and some within.

What's the point if at the peak of one's career, the only thing on your mind is to make a positive impact but your struggles  are rubbished, not appreciated and if care is not taken, one may lose his/her, there is no point.

Really, things like this happen even locally in Nigeria, whereby well  meaning Nigerians have studied abroad and are back home to influence positively thereby improving the lot of the nation, they meet barriers through bottlenecks, obnoxious and cruel policies and policy holding, unimaginable corruption conditions, some jealousy, envy and bitterness, they arrive their local communities and villages  from foreign trips and some armed men waylay them, they deny them their continuous existence, they just terminate and kill them in the  process of betterment of their local communities. Even if they end up not giving out money, dollars to everyone in the community, is it not a good name that an achiever is from your local community?
In some cases, African supernatural means are used to end the lifes of some of these innocent persons.

Why do Nigeria still remain this way inspite efforts put in place by sincere persons who are never given a chance to make things work. If really the labour of our  past heroes shall not be in vain, we have to be intentional about it otherwise, its just a joke.

By the way, who are those past heroes? how many sincere ones have we really had who actually had the interests of the nation at heart and not their own personal interest or their future generations' interest?

May God deliver African rulers from overstretched stomach infrastructure.

Fela Anikulapo's songs are just prophecies.

Man owns not his life

At Birth.
All things Bright and Beautiful

At Mid-age
All things clumsy and confusing
Hopes seem dashed
Fears set in
Fear for life
Fear on life
Fear about life
Fear with life
Fear at life

Purpose sought for
Purpose maybe discovered

At midnight
At the height of purpose
Suddenly, the SUN sets

Man returns to his home unhappy
Man returns to his home unexpected
Man returns to his home unprepared

Whether purpose reached
Whether not
Man returns to his home
Man own not his life
Man decides not on it

Achieving what you conceive

Shut up.
Build.
Create.
sell.
Shut up.
The period of shut up is that period you deny yourself luxury and pleasure, you make sacrifices, burn midnight candles, deny yourself even legitimate and basic things of life, as basic as food and drinks just because you have a goal, a vision that must be pursued and a mission that must be accomplished . The period of shutting up is not palatable and its often difficult but at the end,one realises its a worthwhile effort.

Build
This is the time to harness all acquired skills and knowledge perhaps some ideas  acquired in step1 when sacrifices were made and essentials were prioritized.

Create.
Now is the time to launch. Carve a niche. Let people know what you do and why you are unique.

Sell.
Showcase yourself. Let them know the stuff you can deliver and what you are capable of doing and bill your clientele at a cost for effective delivery.

With these steps, anyone can achieve whatever they conceive.

Man's depravity

The beginning of this year, the twin year 2020 has been so dramatic, worrisome and devastating. Its indeed a year some may wish never happened. The global Coronavirus(covid19) pandemic gave this year a totally different definition.People had high hopes for the year but as man may propose and have plans, the year disposes and has refuted the many plans of man. As if the world has not been losing humans to death due to one incident or the other, it seems there was a sharp increase due to the ravages and havocs caused by the pandemic. A pandemic that spared no country and left no country behind.
A virus that visits every country and everyone including world powers, constituted authoritie and powers - that - be locally and internationally.

One would have expected that the pandemic would have called for some form of sobriety of the human race but no it only shows that man had no regard for God and expresses also the depravity and fallen nature of man during the lockdown and economy shotdown.Predominantly of man's depravity shown is worldwide reportage of sexual abuses. Abuses of minors by relatives. Raping of females and killing them after the wicked act. The latter took centre stage particularly in Nigeria.

It behoves me to then wonder that while the world was locked down and some were strategising to make a good  use of the lockdown to create beneficial opportunities  for the new world order, many others idle away behind  devices on pornography and obscenity to their own detriment.
How unfortunate!

The case at hand in the world should be informing the whole world of worse days ahead because of the close of age.
Covid19 can only be liken  to the infrequent pain experienced by a woman at the beginning of labor, usually intermittent, thereafter the  constant and excruciating pains.

Everyone in the world now, i mean the wise should understand this season and prepare for any eventuality as the calendar of the world may just at any time be shortened for whoever and in short  possibly everyone. Whoever is unprepared faces the expected reality as there will never be  opportunities for amendment of correcting one's wrong after this timeout in the grave or beyond.

It is appointed unto man once to die, after this comes judgement.

Therefore in as much as you did not decide to come to the world of your own volition, you will also not decide when to leave it neither will you be able to decide how.

Uncertain times

A lot of unimaginable and implausible things happen in the world today, one wonders if there is anyone to trust or love. With Covid 19,the whole world faces the uncertainties and realities of today's world. One thing I have just observed is, the world gets more wicked and selfish today more than yesterday and anyone can be the victim of this uncertain times. There are evils everywhere regardless of country and borders. These range from killing of underage, overage, anyone, even the unborn by those who are saddled with the responsibility of protecting them, so much rape and incest cases, going viral on social thereby promoting them indirectly. Septuagenarians being raped by young boys, girls being raped and killed by their rapists, people setting others up like their friends for evil. Policemen killing citizens, policies against God's wish executed by government authorities and the list is inexhaustive.

What do we do in a time like this:

Let's be firmly rooted in our faith and trust in God, that's if you have any. If you have none, it's time for you to give it a deep consideration, you may end up in irredeemable regrets if you do not.

Pray more than you use to. I mean Pray to God indeed and know what you believe so that you don't fall for whatever.

Be mindful of what you allow get into your life, your consciousness or get in your ways. Being mindful also include the people you allow into you and around you.

Be conscious of what you nurse in your thoughts. Most of what is nursed in the thoughts are products of what we see with our eyes. Anything you see is registered on your thoughts pattern and mind, you simply pick it, good or bad when you need it, in hours of temptation or in hours if victory. Its very possible that if you feast on pornography, you will rape anyone even your sons and daughters.

Be positive always, no matter how bad the situations are, don't give up hope and faith. Just ensure you are on the right path

Be kinder, when you are not, you hurt yourself in the long run.

 Finally, do not lose yourself.

7 things you should be quiet about

1.Your success :When ventures are success indeed, they sell out the owner and initiator. Most often, achievers do not sound their own alarm.

2.Your plans:Learn to conceal your plans, do not sell it out to those who may act faster than you, most times it is to your disadvantage, they may rupture it as an embryo, it may lead to a miscarriage.

3.Your income:You may be inviting more than you can care for and biting more than you can chew.Nonetheless, you should help as many as you can and also apply wisdom while you do as wisdom is applicable to direct.
4.Your next move:So you do not get waylay by stronger forces you are not prepared to handle.

5.Your happiness:Not every one wants you succeeding, 95%of people in your life have one reservation or another about you and wish it is their happiness when you are happy.Understand that when you are happy in life, alot of people around you may not be so happy deep down but no one voices out such. The only people or persons who wish you outdo and get better than them are probably mums and dads and they must be mums and dads indeed.

6.Your weaknesses:For as many as you discover, deal with them personally, before they hunt you but do not loud them.

7.When the goings are good, you hardly hear couples make noise, when you do, you may be sharing the news with the wrong people. More often you hear couples' outbursts when the relationship is sour, even at that moment, it is  to the joy of some you may be sharing such information with and even beyond couples matters, issues about the children, their successes or failures should not be on broadcast also.

Less show, More action

I see these days that people want to be seen than felt. They want to be heard even when what they have to give out is inconclusive and wacky.

It's important that there is less show off in the journey of life especially when you are yet to arrive at a reasonable conclusion.
A yoruba adage says, Bi isu Eni ba Jina, a fi owo bo je.Loosely translated, when your yam is fully cooked, you cover it up with your hands while you eat it. Literally, it means, you keep quiet in the process of your wishes and desires coming through and even when they eventually come through.
Recently, a friend said her pastor Sam Adeyemi said not Dangote's kind of yam can be covered up when fully cooked. The fact remains that when Dangote was in pursuance of that wish, desire, success and promotion, he was not heard. When he had a whole market to manage all by himself, with such monopoly, he was not in the news, he was not heard, he was not discussing his rising with certain people who may have been a barrier to him. Also, it means, one has to be careful who you share your success or failure stories with, even when the going is good, they may help or hamper you as you try to climb the  ladder further. Dangote's yam, when it was well done, he enjoyed it, now we hear of him as he can now be said to be cooking a collective yam in which even if it refuses to get done, it may not be a disadvantage for him in any way.
Don't be the one that wants to be seen or heard even when you need that fame, let your actions, due diligence, due process announce you,be the one that will be felt.

Make more moves, less announcements.

#lifematters-Mattersoflife#: Gratitude Inspite Covid19

Gratitude Inspite Covid19

No doubt, the world is presently experiencing war, one with no arms or ammunition, a biological war which has added itself as a major means of decimating the world population and has led to compulsory global holidays(an unprepared one at that). Permit me to say it's an omnipresent one, present in all countries of the world at the same time, even in those countries that have never experienced physical war. The war that cuts across race, tongue, tribe religion, rich, poor, educated, illiterate and a respecter of no one.

However, the wreaks and havocs this war has caused the human race is enormous but if one is still alive, you have reasons to be grateful. The end of the pandemic have been predicted to usher the world into the new order as jobs are lost, economies are crashed and a lot more.
Aside this pandemic ravaging the world, people are dying per second basis in their thousands, a glimpse of statistics by worldometer will make you see reasons of gratitude for life no matter what havoc you think the devastating Covid19 has caused the war. It's just the 1st of the fifth month in year 2020,over 2million are dead as a result of cancer and other millions due to other incidences, meaning those who are dying from other incidences despite lockdown and no movements in most part of the world  is far worse than Covid19.

An attitude of gratitude is every thing especially if you still have your breathe regardless of how terrible you may be feeling at the moment.

WORK PLACE ATTITUDES

Workplace Attitudes: Inside Nigeria though,
I do not have much work  experience because I have worked for just few years but these are some work place attitudes I have encountered in these few years.

The NFA: No future Ambition. They have been there for ages, stationary staff,in academics, they have no papers and publications, they are acdemically barren. In the Civil service,if not for Biannual promotion they will be at a spot perpetually but when they see others making progress they become jealous and frustrated.

The NO MONEY(s): Have you met them? Two days after  salaries are paid, they embark on loan and thrifts from banks, friends, family and even enemies. They never learn to save, no matter how much or  how little .They have no family responsibilities,no  wife, parents or children but attend all asoebis  and red carpets.

The  ATTACHEE:They do not have their own voices, others are their sound systems, when you  help them air their views, they still remain fearful.

The JUDAS(is):They are cheap betrayals .They are loyalists for gains and sometimes for no just cause or justifiable reasons. They slay and slam and when confronted, they deny, rescind and play innocence especially when it involves a superior officer, they tape record others in the same panel of gossip and tongue killing with the intention sometimes to be rewarded.

The DOWN-TO-EARTH:These are honest and  faithful staff, they never see white and refer to it as black, they may sometimes be activists and may be violent in their approach and their  fight for justice. They are never intimidated neither do they silence their consciences once equity is involved .

The FEARFUL:They have very low self esteem. More often they are insecured  and have fear of the unknown, fear of losing out, once they are confronted, they give the unimaginable history and details of events that never happened, they mostly give out plans that took years to conceal.

The ANTAGONISTS: They have no reasonable suggestion but antagonises right moves in the right directions.

The OVERBURDENED,DEPRESSED:The workplace is all they have, they may be confronted with one challenge at the home front and from Genesis to Exodus they vividly without hesitations, give the breakdown of how Mongo Park initially wooed their late grandmother but ended up breaking her heart.

The PESSIMISTS AND LAZY:They see nothing good in that job they do,full of complaints and murmurs and they are lazy even when they change jobs they are still who they are . They concentrate on non-essentials,leave their jobs undone while busy with Social media comments and trends, always on twitter and FaceBook to post ridiculous comments while Jobs on their tables are left unattended to.

The Unwise:They spiritualise their jobs. They do not do what is expected of them as at when due,in stead, they are locked somewhere praying, doing maybe the right thing at the wrong time. They mostly forget that there is time for everything under the sun and that faith and work goes hand in hand. When called to attend to their jobs, they give excuses on the premise that they are on spiritual exercises.

The FAVOUR SEEKERS And SUPPOSED FRIEND. They only do what ever will favour them, they will never  help you break an egg once they cannot get a fair  share from it.

The CANKERWORM: These ones,we have them more in Nigeria. They do not mind if an institution fails or if a system is destroyed or even if the work place collapses, all they consider is their own momentary and monetary gains afterwards, not minding the future consequences of their actions on even the populace .They eat, consume and embezzle just anything.

These are the few I can remember i have met, tell me the ones you have met so far. What category do you belong?

Beautiful God.

God makes all things beautiful in his time not the time of man.
Man is mortal and therefore cannot see the future or the plans ahead.
Everyone wants to be rich, everyone desires to live in beautiful houses and best of apartments, drive in their own cars and look best always but honestly if all wishes were to be granted by God as desired by human, then we won't have anyone selling in the markets, there won't be plumber and electricians,no one will be available to dispose off wastes,in fact we would not have varieties.

God who is infinite in knowledge knew us all before he formed us so he knows what is good for each of us per time. Just at whatever position you are on the ladder of life, just bring yourself to the realization that there is an appointed time, pray hard, work hard, work smarter and enjoy the life you are presently living in with the hope that soonest your wishes will come true.

ON AMOTEKUN: Western Nigeria Security Network

One of the unique features of the Leopard is that it is the least social but most beautiful animal of the African cats. Its uniqueness also in terms of strength I consider is one of the reasons the South West,Yoruba dominant speakers of Nigeria  has chosen the Leopard as a symbol of her regional security outfit to protect her children from predators.
This idea is such an interesting one considering the rate at which the whole Country is presently experiencing Insecurity. Hopefully, the idea will against all odds stand for the ultimate goals to be actualised. I think in my opinion the following should be considered for Amotekun to be really unique.

Africans tend to believe that the Christian God tarries longer to pass judgement but its not so with the African traditional religion gods like the Ogun,Sango,Oya etc. These deities  are believed to be so potent and very fast in terms of retributions and nemesis especially when an individual has compromised.

First, the operators of Amotekun should be bound by whatever means legally not to be compromising and never to allow infiltrations. The Yoruba saying that the enemy is right there in your backyard while your betrayal resides right in your house should always be in the thoughts of the board formation(members) of Amotekun.  Standards should not be compromised for no reason and whoever errs amongst members regardless of their connection to godfathers should be dealt with.If this is not done, cases after infiltrations of an adhoc security outfit(s)are usually worse off than when checks were not in place.
Secondly, technological skills could be deployed to make the workload easier for the operators. In a lagos university recently, a young lecturer with his team of students built a panic alert app within the university environment to alert security personnels of any eventualities. This idea can be embraced so that when more hands are needed to be on deck at the venue of an incidence, help comes in no distance time. Also since the Amotekun operatives are also our husbands, fathers  and relatives, their lives can also be secured with the use of an app.

Thirdly, the outfit will achieve so much if the members are bound by oath of honesty, sincerity and unity and if those chosen to serve are men of integrity. God himself is aware that anything man sets his heart at with a united front with no betrayals within,is usually a success, a good example was Nimrod and co who tried to intimidate God when they decided to build Babel..God acted faster before man's actions became absolute,in this case,it was unity with no diversity which seems to work  better.
Finally, the Amotekun operatives who will always be on the battlefield needs to be prayed for and also to be financially kitted. They will always be at the front line and edges for the safety and security of others so wisdom is needed for them to guard against the tactics of the predators.
If these and other things are considered for the success of this outfit in the Southwest then Amotekun has come to stay and Nigeria is one step ahead especially in terms of security.

The Bowing of the Legend

Nigerians never cease to amaze me.Our attitudes and disposition on serious life matter(s) gives an outright conclusion that we seem to be the most devastated and frustrated people but we palliate these with jokes,it speaks volume of the air and temperature of our society.
An International basket ball player, Kobe Bryant (41 years old)has been killed in his chopper along with his daughter(Gianna,13,an aspiring basket ball player)and other seven persons while trying to attend a game at Mamba Academy in the USA.This accident, did call for a sober reflection.Internationally, even America that is believed to have it all had a sober reflection on matters dwelling  on eternity but in Nigeria, jokes and comics  on his death started flying around. This got me thinking that as a people, do we still even have values for life and morals.

On Sunday,26th Jan.2020,we woke up to the news on the death of a  young American  and an international basket ball mentor who with 8 others including his daughter were crashed by Kobe Bryant's private chopper .He died at the very prime of his life when life had just began for him.  Though he left the world earlier than would have been envisaged ideally but these salient lessons I learnt from his endearing life.

1.Living life well is not a function of how  far but how well.
The young man was an achiever no doubt. He was young but had achieved so much in his short years with resilience, zeal and hardwork. He entered the National Basketball Association(NBA) from high school and played his entire 20 season professional career in the league with the Los Angeles Lakers .He won five NBA Championship and was an 18 time all star,15 time member of the All NBA team and 12 time member of the All defensive team .He was also named NBA most valuable player,MVP in 2008.He was regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.

2.He was happily married.
Though he and his soulmate Vanessa had it tough when in 2011,they divorced  and reconciled together as love birds in 2013.He was 21,when he met his wife who was 17,while they had their tough time on issue dwelling on adultery,he apologised to his wife publicly on a radio programme  while she was seated there with him with tears on his face. His parents were said not to have attended their wedding because they felt he was too young to be married at the time. Together as a couple, they had four daughters,Natalia(17)Gianna(13),Bianka(3) and Capri(7months).He was indeed an adoring husband to his wife and an adorable father to his children.
He was indeed a dedicated dad as he told Maria Shriver shortly before his death in an interview that ' Being a father is the thing I am most proud of in this world,it's my greatest achievement'. One can imagine the level of such happiness of an achiever in his career and also in his home.

Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna Bryant who lost their lives in the unfortunate crash.

3.Being mindful of wishes and confessions.
Tracy Mcgrady  came into the League almost same time with Kobe Bryant, while the former came in,in 1997,the latter came in,in 1996.They spent most of their times together in the Lakers. Mcgrady had this to say after Bryant's demise when he spoke with Rachel Nicohols of ESPN that Bryant had always wanted to die young although he had confessed this before he had his daughters. He claimed that he had always said he wanted to die young and be immortalized, he wanted his career better than Michael Jordan's.
One may not have known the reason he had wished for  death earlier while he was younger but the point is there is power in our confession and wishes and so no matter what life decides to throw at us,good or otherwise, what we say at any and every moment is  very much important and may go a long way to determine what we become or what becomes of us.

May God give the families of the deceased the fortitude to bear their losses.

Which Way: Nigeria

It was a ray of hope in 2015 when this present administration took over the governance of Nigeria,at least everyone was hopeful that the security of Nigeria will take a better shape considering  what had happened in the previous administration in which the Boko Haram insurgency became a night mare and reality at the same time. There were early warning signs though but Nigeria as the giant like any other Africa country did not see these signs.

Now it's four years after 2015 and it does not seem the security issue of Nigeria is going to get better. The sad thing is, the issue of insecurity on the BokoHaram insurgency has now nosedived into dimensional insecurity in other regions of the nation beyond the NorthEast region.Kidnapping, banditry, abductions by local assailants and unknown group predominantly the Fulani herdsmen is now the order of the day.
Sadly, the Boko Haram sect now shows themselves being very kind and caring enough to their captors under their captivity by giving them good foods, good beds to sleep, making them appear before their purported video to solicit for helpers to come pay them ransome to fuel their BHaccount and refusal to get the demands, the captors who had earlier solicited and testified of the kindness of the sect suddenly have their heads taken off their bodies.
Nigeria now seems to be the giant of Africa in which her citizens are gruesomely murdered with no respite even on the Nigerian soil.
The gruesome murder of an innocent man ,the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria,Adamawa, Rev Lawani Andimi is a case at hand. He was abducted when the group terrorised his village Michika in Adamawa state while some natives fled into the bushes, the soldiers had a counter attack while the group still carted away with some captives unfortunately.
On 5th Jan,he was said to have appeared in the BH video where he stated the group had been good and kind to him but that the amount demanded for his freedom which was over 800million naira should be sought for and he promised his family that if God says he had returned to them safely again he will but that they should not worry,he was fine, the group was said to have been offered 50 million Naira but refused it and two weeks after, the story changed and the man has been beheaded.

Pray the families of the deceased CAN chairperson and that of the captivated soldier who was killed along side with him receive the fortitude to bear their losses.

On insecurity, Nigeria, which way are we going ?

THAT OLD TIME FRIEND

As individuals,we need people to survive,we need friends so importantly,I imagine a lonely world,it  could be such an incomplete one. Friends could be assets and at the same time could be liability.
Friends can kill and they can bring to life, friends can wound and they can also heal, they could be the bullet piercing you through while at the same time, they could be the healing balm.

However, friends are help meet on your way to achieving and climbing up.It is very important that whenever one is in a relationship with anyone termed a friend and for over a period, maybe distance or whatever came in between and the closeness is no longer as it used to be,when opportunities avail again and the Proximity returns as it was,the little period of separation should not be taken for granted.
I remember the saying of my old time friend,Mike Adegbola which goes thus;
When seeing a very good friend in which distance and time have separated and come in between you both, never make a mistake of asking;friend, how are you?but rather, ask, friend:What have you become?.
This is very important because some persons while they have been separated, life has thrown some challenges at them, while some had welcomed such with positive vibes, others have chosen to embrace life the other way round. Therefore, do not go about vouching and being a surety for a friend whom you once knew so well because they may have become criminals, betrayals, stabbers, killers and even destructive termites.
When next you meet an old friend, remember,do not ask how have you been  only but it may be good to ask for courtesy but rather focus more especially if the time and distance factor had played a separation role, ask, friend, what have you become?

UNCONTROLLABLE SELF

The world is filled with problems today and one of the root cause(s) is lack of self control. Vanities are exaggerated, societal ills like incest, teenage pregnancies,Gender based violence,LGBTI and many more  can be attributed to lack of self control to a large extent. When one refuses to train one's mind in contentments ,indiscipline creeps in,inordinate cravings  sets in,self control is subtracted  and what comes after that is addiction. One may have to swear or vow on one's life to stop such addictions.

The Lucifer some of us who believe fell from his once palacious residence where he was with the creator in heaven, came as low as a result. Once an awry idea is conceived on the mind  and one refuses to disregard and disapproves,it becomes a problem one may have to succumb the entirety of one's life and resources.
I have observed that if any immoral act must prevail, it's usually over exaggerated with capital focus and before long,it permeates and penetrates the larger society. What is advertised or publicised more sells faster. Sex is over exaggerated, fame is,get rich quick syndrome, vanities are, little wonder we have rapists, homos, and a lot of them now widely pronounced making the societies we once lived in  peacefully, now fearful and horrible.
Let's all learn to publicise more  what can be preserved till/ for posterity,I mean positive vibes  so we can have saner societies making the world a better place for all.
